: Harnessing our Global Endeavour

It is understood that at this time various individuals and organizations around the globe are embarking on a variety of initiatives to enhance the well being of Goans, both, in Goa, and in their various lands of adoption.

The International Goan Organization of Ontario lauds the efforts of these selfless individuals to promote solidarity and connectivity with the motherland. Much can be accomplished when willing hands and hearts come together in good and common cause.

The inherent difficulty in an organizational environment of this nature, however, is clearly the lack of coordination, communication and collaboration between the various players. The IGO of Ontario believes that, without an overarching sense of purpose and direction, precious and scarce human, physical and financial resources run the risk of being fragmented and duplicated, with the consequent diminishing of the sum total of the efforts of all involved.

Accordingly, the IGO of Ontario is considering initiating a dialogue with these individuals and organizations in the expectation that eventually the combined impact of our gallant endeavors will be greater than the sum of its individual parts. As well, all of us are now nicely positioned to ride the new wave of communication technology the new millennium has ushered in and which will go a long way towards dwarfing geographical divides.

The International Goan Organization of Ontario believes that its accomplishments since 1989 in terms of realizing practical, tangible and effective outcomes can serve as an effective platform from which to launch this initiative to attain this coordination, communication and collaboration. Most importantly our efforts will be in line with our overall goal: to serve as a unifying force in our combined global endeavors to enrich the lives of Goans everywhere.
