The IGO held several workshops in Etobicoke, Ontario Canada to which NRI/NRGs and all interested parties were invited. Attendees were informed that the IGO intended pursing the critical issues and problems in Goa faced by NRI/NRGs, with the Office of Commissioner for NRI Affairs in Goa; The Government of Goa, India; and The Government of India and invited them to identify their major grievances.

On January 4, 2007, Cellie Gonsalves, representing the IGO, attended the Global Goans Convention in Goa at which time she made a presentation with regard to the prevailing issues affecting NRI/NRGs in Ontario, Canada. In addition, she prepared a detailed report which was reviewed in January 2007 separately with Hon. Eduardo Faleiro, Commissioner for NRI Affairs - Goa and the Hon. Pratapsingh Rane, Chief Minister - Goa.

Also included is the current status of developments with regard to the efforts of the IGO to offer any and all assistance to bridge the gaps and address the concerns of NRI/NRGs with regard to their financial and real estate interests in Goa.

Most importantly, we believe that our efforts significantly align with one of our primary objectives: to spark the interest of our younger ones to stay "connected" with the motherland.
